Basketball Recap: Kaimuki Comes Up Short

Kaimuki was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 77-39 loss at the hands of the Kailua Surfriders. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Hawaii basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while the Surfriders are ranked sixth).

Kaimuki's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Kailua, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which lines up perfectly with their 12-4 record this season.

Kaimuki will square off against Kahuku at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Kailua and Moanalua will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Kailua is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
