Flag Football Recap: River Islands Takes a Loss

After flying high against Delta Charter on Tuesday, River Islands came back down to earth. The Riptide took a 19-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Riverbank Bruins on Thursday. The Riptide were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bruins earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

River Islands has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Riverbank, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. River Islands will welcome Gustine at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Riverbank, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mariposa County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Grizzlies' defense has only allowed 8.7 points per game this season, so the Bruins' offense will have their work cut out for them.
