Softball Recap: Medford's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Medford had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Rhinelander Hodags a 15-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Raiders also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Rylee Hraby made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Hraby was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zayleah Leonhardt, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, seven RBI, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Chelsea Gebauer was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

Medford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Medford's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Rhinelander, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Medford beat the Hodags by a score of 20-2 later that day.
