Baseball Recap: Astronaut Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Astronaut, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They skirted past the Atlantic Sharks 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the War Eagles have posted since February 25th.

Blake Sargenti made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Astronaut's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 5-6 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ameer Ross, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Nathan Edwards, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

The win got Astronaut back to even at 7-7. As for Atlantic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

Astronaut will challenge Bloomington at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. As for Atlantic, they will head out to challenge East River at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
