After flying high against San Tan Foothills on Wednesday, Gilbert Christian came back down to earth. The Knights fell 3-1 to the Scottsdale Christian Academy Eagles on Thursday. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

While Gilbert Christian had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-20, 15-25, 25-20.

Lillie Duitsman paced Gilbert Christian's offense, picking up 16 kills. Duitsman got some help from Sidney Loth and her 34 assists. Shay Loth controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Lucy Dickerson was nothing short of spectacular for Scottsdale Christian Academy: she had 19 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Dickerson has posted since back in September of 2024.

Gilbert Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 22-6. As for Scottsdale Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 25-6 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Gilbert Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bourgade Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on the 15th. As for Scottsdale Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Red Rock on the 9th.
