They put the hurt on Loogootee with a sharp 10-2 win on Saturday. The Panthers not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 15th (when they won 12-0).
Ella Morton made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Sadey Jones was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Ava Leeds was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Evansville Reitz kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Loogootee only managed three hits.
Evansville Reitz pushed their record up to 8-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of three runs across that stretch. As for Evansville Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
