Basketball Recap: Durand Falls Despite Big Games from Izabell Konesny and Raine Smith

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three matches, Durand finally came back down to earth on Monday. They came up short against the New Lothrop Hornets, falling 45-24. The game marked the Railroaders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Durand had strong showings from Raine Smith, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 11 points, and Izabell Konesny, who posted ten points.

Durand's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4. As for New Lothrop, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Durand will host Birch Run at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Durand is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50 points per game this season. As for New Lothrop, they will be playing at home against Chesaning at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
