Volleyball Recap: Indian Creek Falls to Buckeye Trail in First Game of Season

Indian Creek had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 3-0 to the Buckeye Trail Warriors on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Redskins in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost six in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-13, 25-17.

Cara Vandeborne paced Indian Creek's offense, picking up five kills. Vandeborne got some help from Gabby Taylor and her seven assists. Vandeborne also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with TyLee Spencer, racking up two apiece.

Buckeye Trail can attribute much of their success to Karsyn Oldson, who had eight digs and two aces.

Indian Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Buckeye Local on the 19th. As for Buckeye Trail, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Fort Frye on the 21st.
