Volleyball Recap: Flint Hill Takes Down Potomac School in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Flint Hill had no problem doing just that on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Potomac School Panthers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 last Thursday.

One reason for the win was Flint Hill's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-13, 25-9.

Evie Huang was the offensive standout of the match as she had nine digs and two assists. Izarra Bector also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Flint Hill was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in four consecutive contests.

Despite the defeat, Potomac School saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lily Gurney had 11 digs and one assist.

The victory got Flint Hill back to even at 12-12-1. As for Potomac School, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Flint Hill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Georgetown Day on the 29th. Potomac School does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
