Football Recap: Mount Juliet Comes Up Short

Mount Juliet was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Friendship Christian Commanders, falling 28-3.

Blake Waldorf was nothing short of spectacular for Friendship Christian: he threw for 191 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 64 yards on only eight carries. George Dayton made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Mount Juliet's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Friendship Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Juliet will venture away from home to take on Lebanon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Golden Bears' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Friendship Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge DeKalb County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
