Baseball Game Preview: Industrial Cobras vs. Yoakum Bulldogs

The Industrial Cobras will challenge the Yoakum Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Industrial has five straight victories, Yoakum has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Industrial's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Friday, when they got past Edna's usually-dominant pitching crew. Industrial walked away with a 12-7 win over Edna.

Easton Larew made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Larew was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nic Kuchler, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI and one stolen base. Major Larew was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Yoakum fell victim to Hallettsville and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 7-0 to the Brahmas. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.

Yoakum now has a losing record of 5-6-1. As for Industrial, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.

Industrial skirted past Yoakum 8-7 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Will Industrial repeat their success, or does Yoakum have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
