Soccer Recap: Arab's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

If Arab was feeling good fresh off their 9-0 takedown of Etowah last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Arab Knights came up short against the Guntersville Wildcats on Thursday, falling 4-1. The Knights were red-hot offensively heading into the matchup (they scored no less than four goals in the five games prior), but the Wildcats' defense proved too tough.

Arab's goal came courtesy of Peyton Stockton, who's now up to three this season.

Arab moved to 6-4 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 41 goals over those five contests. As for Guntersville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Arab is taking a road trip to take on Oxford at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Arab will be up against Oxford's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.88 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Guntersville, they will be taking part in a tournament against Austin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
