Football Recap: Six Straight Road Victories for West Morgan + How To Watch

West Morgan had won six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they bumped up to 2-0 to make it seven. They were the clear victors by a 47-21 margin over the Brooks Lions. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-7.

MacArri Johnson had a dynamite game, rushing for 293 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 14.7 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run. Another player making a difference was Tayshaun McDaniel, who picked up 49 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: West Morgan was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 342 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

As for Brooks, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 134th, while West Morgan is ranked 49th).

When it comes to explaining why Brooks lost, don't look at Ro Thompson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 100 yards and one score.
