Hoggard's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They beat the Topsail Pirates by a goal, winning 3-2. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Hoggard's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Topsail are ranked 53rd).

Hoggard's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Topsail, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-4-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hoggard will head out to face off against Hunt at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Topsail, they will venture away from home to square off against Laney at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
