Basketball Recap: Burns Takes a Loss

Burns was the 54-49 winner over Torrington when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Burns Broncs took a blow against the Torrington Trailblazers on Friday, falling 75-35. The Broncs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Burns' loss came despite strong showings from Mason Medley and Shaw Martin. Medley dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds, while Martin went 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points. Medley is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played.

Torrington got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mac Hibben out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards. With that strong performance, Hibben is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Landre Greiman, who went 5 for 11 en route to 15 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists.

Burns' defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Torrington, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-4.

Burns will face off against Rawlins at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. As for Torrington, they will square off against Wheatland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
