Softball Recap: Hobart Takes a Loss

If Hobart was feeling good fresh off their 21-3 takedown of Merrillville on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Brickies lost 19-6 to the Kankakee Valley Kougars on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Kougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-4 on April 10th.

Hobart saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aurora Ciesielski, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was Ciesielski's first of the season. Another was Nora Hornak, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs.

Hobart now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Kankakee Valley, their record now sits at 7-5.

Coming up, Hobart will venture away from home to square off against Griffith at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Brickies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 10 runs per game this season. As for Kankakee Valley, they will take on Munster at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Kougars surely won't give up without a fight.
