Basketball Recap: Horizon Christian Takes a Loss

Horizon Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Seven Oaks Classical Firehawks and fell 60-17. Horizon Christian lost against Seven Oaks Classical in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 44-41 score last time.

Macy Bush continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Seven Oaks Classical, going 8 of 12 from beyond the arc on her way to 36 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Bush has scored at least a third of Seven Oaks Classical's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rebecca Miller, who posted seven points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

Horizon Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Seven Oaks Classical, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Horizon Christian will square off against KIPP Legacy at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. Seven Oaks Classical has already played their next matchup (against Union), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
