Basketball Game Preview: Leland Panthers vs. Amboy Clippers

Leland hasn't had much luck against Amboy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Leland Panthers will be home for the holidays to greet the Amboy Clippers at 7:00 p.m. Leland knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Amboy likes a good challenge.

While Leland didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They enjoyed a cozy 65-50 win over LaMoille on Friday.

Meanwhile, Amboy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 43-37 to Earlville. The defeat continues a trend for the Clippers in their matchups with the Red Raiders: they've now lost five in a row.

Leland has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Amboy, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
