Baseball Game Preview: Lake Buena Vista Vipers vs. Cornerstone Charter Academy Ducks

After both having extra time off, the Lake Buena Vista Vipers and the Cornerstone Charter Academy Ducks will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Lake Buena Vista's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Cornerstone Charter Academy has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.

Last Thursday, Lake Buena Vista earned a 7-3 victory over Windermere Prep.

Luis Ramos was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Cornerstone Charter Academy suffered their closest loss since April 4, 2024 last Thursday. They fell just short of Aubrey Rogers by a score of 5-3.

Lake Buena Vista is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. Cornerstone Charter Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lake Buena Vista has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Cornerstone Charter Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
