Recap: Calvary Christian Academy Eagles vs. The Rock National Lions
On Saturday, the Calvary Christian Academy Eagles faced The Rock National Lions in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Calvary Christian Academy took a 57-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of The Rock National. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Calvary Christian Academy has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Calvary Christian Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Shon Abaev. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Abaev is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Samuel Hallas, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Calvary Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for The Rock National, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calvary Christian Academy will take on Somerset Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for The Rock National, they will be playing at home against Central Pointe Christian Academy National at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
