Football Recap: Forest Skates Past Richland with Ease

The Forest Bearcats were fully in charge on Friday, breezing past the Richland Rangers 41-3. The result was nothing new for the Bearcats, who have now won five games by 22 points or more so far this season.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Forest's defense and their five sacks. Shamar Evans was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. Gregory Keeton was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 13 total tackles (6.0 for loss).

The victory made it two in a row for Forest and bumps their season record up to 7-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 9 points in those games. As for Richland, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Forest will host Morton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Richland, they will square off against East Rankin Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rangers will be up against the Patriots' rather soft defense (which has allowed 25.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
