Softball Recap: Paragould Comes Up Short

Paragould extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-4. They lost 12-2 to the Jonesboro Hurricane. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hurricane apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Hadley Luke made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That run marked the first that she has scored this season.

Jonesboro's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 24, 2025 (when they won 17-5).

On Jonesboro's side, Ella Green was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs Green has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Harper Harris, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Coming up, Paragould will head out to challenge Brookland at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bearcats' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Rams' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Jonesboro, they will take on Westside at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
