Basketball Recap: Fairmont Senior Comes Up Short

Fairmont Senior lost against Philip Barbour back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Fairmont Senior Polar Bears were dealt an 81-47 loss at the hands of the Philip Barbour Colts. The Polar Bears' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Philip Barbour found their leader in sophomore Izzy Knotts, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Knotts a new career-high in assists (five). Another player making a difference was Finley Carpenter, who posted six points in addition to ten assists and seven boards.

Fairmont Senior's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Philip Barbour, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-6.

Fairmont Senior will challenge Robert C. Byrd at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Fairmont Senior is facing Robert C. Byrd at the right time seeing as Robert C. Byrd is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Philip Barbour, they will square off against North Marion at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
