Basketball Recap: Central Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Central can now relate to. They took a 60-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Laurel Hill Hoboes. The Jaguars just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Despite the defeat, Central saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Carson Baxley posted 14 points and eight rebounds. Brock Schmidt was another key player, putting up seven points and seven boards.

Even though they lost, Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in five consecutive contests.

Central's loss dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Laurel Hill, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-15 record this season.

Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Laurel Hill has also already played their next game, a 56-45 defeat against Baker on the 5th.
