Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Lourdes Academy couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 3-1 to the Archbishop McCarthy Mavericks on Wednesday. Lourdes Academy's defeat signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak.

Lourdes Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-27, 25-19, 25-13, 25-16.

Lourdes Academy's loss dropped their record down to 23-6. As for Archbishop McCarthy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-3 record this season.
