Volleyball Recap: Calvary Lutheran Takes a Loss

Calvary Lutheran was the 2-0 winner over Centralia when they last played one another back in October of 2016, but their luck changed this time around. The Lions fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Lions just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Sydney Foutes paced Calvary Lutheran's offense, picking up ten kills. Foutes were helped by Teagan Foley and Bella Frates, who contributed seven assists each. Finally, Lily Foutes kept Calvary Lutheran's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Calvary Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9-2. As for Centralia, their victory bumped their record up to 11-17-2.

Looking ahead, Calvary Lutheran will challenge Christian Fellowship at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Centralia, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against California on the 20th.
