After a string of three wins, Plainfield South's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 53-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oswego East Wolves. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 52-40 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Plainfield South's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Oswego East, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3.

Plainfield South and Maine West will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Oswego East, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against DePaul College Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. DePaul College Prep has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last six games.
