Monte Vista will be up against a hot Steele Canyon team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Steele Canyon managed a 58-54 win over Helix on Friday.

Meanwhile, Monte Vista hadn't done well against Helix recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Monte Vista skirted past Helix 73-70. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Monarchs have posted since November 20, 2024.

Monte Vista's win came from a few key players Steele Canyon will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Alex Villanueva, who posted 20 points and eight boards. Jaren Wright was another key player, putting up 14 points and three steals.
