Volleyball Recap: Mesa Ridge Comes Up Short

Mesa Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Rampart Rams. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

Mesa Ridge was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-16, 25-21.

Kaya Harris paced Mesa Ridge's offense, picking up seven kills. Harris got some help from Aiden Meacham and his 14 assists. Finally, Meacham was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

Mesa Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Rampart, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season.

Mesa Ridge will welcome Canon City at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Rampart, they will head out on the road to take on Doherty at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
