Basketball Game Preview: The Meadows School Mustangs vs. Boulder City Eagles

The Meadows School Mustangs will square off against the Boulder City Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, The Meadows School strolled past Chaparral with points to spare, taking the game 51-35.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead The Meadows School to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ej Nwapa, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Chloe Gyang, who posted ten points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Boulder City). In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 59-58 victory over Mohave Accelerated. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

The win got Boulder City back to even at 2-2. As for The Meadows School, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-1.

The Meadows School came up short against Boulder City when the teams last played back in January, falling 43-39. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Boulder City's Sophia Muelrath, who went 7 of 11 on her way to 20 points, to go along with seven rebounds and three steals.
