Basketball Recap: Lehi Comes Up Short

Lehi was the 69-62 winner over Skyridge when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Lehi Pioneers fell 54-44 to the Skyridge Falcons on Friday.

When it comes to explaining why Lehi lost, don't look at Easton Hawkins. Despite the final result, he posted 17 points. Another player making a difference was Saxon Young, who scored six points.

Skyridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jordan Kohler led the charge by dropping a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Kohler has become a key player for Skyridge: the team is 8-4 when he posts at least eight boards, but 3-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Aisa Aumoeualogo, who had ten points.

Lehi's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Skyridge, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Lehi wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 70-65 defeat against Lone Peak on the 11th. As for Skyridge, they have also already played their next game, a 60-51 win against Pleasant Grove on the 11th.
