The El Dorado Aztecs are taking a road trip to take on the Del Valle Conquistadores at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
El Dorado is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Hanks just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights.
El Dorado got a good showing from Espen French, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. French has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, El Dorado saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Issa, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Issa is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played. Aaron Gamez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Del Valle, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Riverside with a sharp 11-1 victory on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Conquistadores needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.
ISAAC PADILLA was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. PADILLA was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, ISAIAH GONZALEZ was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. EDGAR VASQUEZ was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Del Valle's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for El Dorado, their loss dropped their record down to 11-16.
El Dorado skirted past Del Valle 2-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Aztecs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
