Softball Game Preview: Father McGivney Catholic Griffins vs. Litchfield Purple Panthers

The Father McGivney Catholic Griffins will face off against the Litchfield Purple Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Father McGivney Catholic will be strutting in after a victory while Litchfield will be coming in after a defeat.

Father McGivney Catholic played against Althoff Catholic on Monday and won via forfeit.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Litchfield's offense. They came up short against Hillsboro on Tuesday, falling 6-0. The Purple Panthers just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

The win made it two in a row for Father McGivney Catholic and bumps their season record up to 9-12. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Litchfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-15.

Father McGivney Catholic couldn't quite get it done against Litchfield when the teams last played back in May of 2023 as they fell 10-6. Can the Griffins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
