Volleyball Recap: Legacy Takes Down Ranked Sunrise Mountain

Legacy faced Sunrise Mountain in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Longhorns blew past the Miners 3-0. The Longhorns haven't had any issues with the Miners recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Legacy not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Sunrise Mountain between 17 and 20 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-20, 25-17.

Logan Hanshew paced Legacy's offense, picking up 13 kills. Hanshew got some help from Isaiah Moore and his 17 assists. Finally, Peter Brozda kept Legacy's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Legacy pushed their record up to 19-8 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Sunrise Mountain, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-12.

Legacy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Southeast Career Tech on the 24th. As for Sunrise Mountain, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Durango on the 24th.
