Basketball Game Preview: Hoquiam Grizzlies vs. Tenino Beavers

Hoquiam and Tenino are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but not for long. The Hoquiam Grizzlies will host the Tenino Beavers at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Hoquiam is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Montesano just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They were beaten by the Bulldogs 68-40.

Meanwhile, Tenino was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 68-28 loss at the hands of Black Hills. While losing is never fun, the Beavers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 313th, while the Wolves are ranked 123rd).

Hoquiam's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Tenino, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.

Everything came up roses for Hoquiam against Tenino in their previous matchup on January 9th, as the team secured a 66-24 victory. Will Hoquiam repeat their success, or does Tenino have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
