Seymour waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They never let the Crosby Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by six runs or more this season.
Skylar Barton made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Julianna Raucci was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ava Chernak, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Seymour pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Crosby, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
