Basketball Recap: Manteca Buffaloes vs. Freedom Falcons
The Manteca Buffaloes waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins but they left with four. They took down Freedom 56-39. Given Manteca's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while the Falcons are ranked 604th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Manteca got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Peyton Nieman out in front who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Evani Gaeta, who scored 14 points.
Manteca pushed their record up to 17-8 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Freedom, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-17.
Manteca and the Timberwolves will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Freedom, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Pittsburg has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,445 points over their last 19 contests.
