Football Game Preview: Clackamas Cavaliers vs. Sandy Pioneers

The Clackamas Cavaliers will venture away from home to take on the Sandy Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clackamas will be strutting in after a win while Sandy will be coming in after a loss.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Clackamas and Barlow have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Cavaliers were the clear victors by a 41-21 margin over the Bruins. The victory continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their matchups with the Bruins: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Sandy had to suffer through a 56-19 loss at the hands of Nelson. The Pioneers have struggled against Nelson recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

The win got Clackamas back to even at 3-3. As for Sandy, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-3.

Clackamas came out on top in a nail-biter against Sandy when the teams last played back in September of 2024, sneaking past 34-31. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Pioneers' Mataio Olomua, who rushed for 194 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Cavaliers to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
