Softball Recap: Lebanon Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lebanon extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 15-7 in the process. They never let the North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by six runs or more this season.

Addy Zell and Morgan Stofer did most of the damage at the plate: Zell went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Stofer went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Stofer has posted since back in April of 2024. MacKenzie Carey was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Lebanon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .560. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Montgomery only posted an OBP of .167.

As for North Montgomery, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

On North Montgomery's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Paisley Gillan, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lebanon will square off against Lafayette Central Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for North Montgomery, they will take on Clinton Prairie at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Gophers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Chargin' Chargers surely won't give up without a fight.
