Baseball Recap: Firebaugh Takes a Loss

Firebaugh extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 4-22 in the process. They came up short against the Washington Union Panthers, falling 12-0. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in March of 2023.

As for Washington Union, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season. The win was familiar territory for they, who have now won ten contests in a row.

For Washington Union's part, Davin Finderup was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave Finderup a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Morris, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Coming up, Firebaugh will host Mendota at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Washington Union, they will venture away from home to challenge Liberty at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hawks' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
