Football Recap: Oviedo Lions vs. Bishop Moore Hornets
Oviedo had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were beaten by the Bishop Moore Hornets 68-35 on Friday. The Lions lost against the Hornets in their previous head to head back in August of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 45-40 score last time.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brock Joyce, who rushed for 91 yards and one TD on only 12 carries, and also picked up 91 receiving yards and one touchdown. Another receiver making a difference was DaShon Febres, who picked up 124 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Amar'E Johnson had a dynamite game For Bishop Moore., rushing for 223 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Blake McCullough was another key player, throwing for 322 yards and five TDs while completing 79.3% of his passes.
Oviedo and Bishop Moore should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Lions will face off against Sickles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (97 vs. 424). Meanwhile, Bishop Moore (ranked 44th) will meet Orlando Christian Prep (ranked 167th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
