Football Recap: Valley Takes a Loss

Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 52-8 loss at the hands of the Frontier Cougars. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Lumberjacks came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 103rd in West Virginia, while the Cougars are ranked 685th in Ohio).

Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Frontier, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3.

Valley will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bridgeport at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. As for Frontier, they will challenge St. Marys at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
