Softball Recap: Huss Comes Up Short

The matchup between Huss and Kings Mountain on Thursday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Huskies came up short against the Mountaineers, falling 23-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mountaineers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 back in March.

Huss' loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Kings Mountain, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Huss will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Ashbrook at 6:00 p.m. on the 14th. The Greenwave have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.23 runs per game on average), something the Huskies will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Kings Mountain, they will take on Point Pleasant in a tournament on Monday.
