Baseball Recap: Lamar Comes Up Short

Lamar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Dover Pirates, falling 11-4. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, with their most recent defeat being a 10-1 loss back in March.

JJ Humphrey and Corbin Cowell did some serious damage despite the final result: Humphrey went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Cowell went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Lamar's record now sits at 5-11-1. As for Dover, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Lamar will challenge Cedarville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Dover, they will take on Atkins at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
