Baseball Recap: Lincoln Finds Playoff Glory Versus Jordan

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lincoln walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 19-2 margin over the Jordan Bulldogs on Tuesday. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Raymond Baez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). He has become a key player for Lincoln: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-12 otherwise. Baez was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Fabian Lopez was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryant Guitron, who went 2-for-4 with four runs and two RBI.

Lincoln always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

With the victory, Lincoln broke their ten-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-13. As for Jordan, they moved to 9-9 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Lincoln has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against WISH Academy on the 15th. Jordan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
