Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bellwood-Antis). They took down the Portage Mustangs 69-50 on Wednesday. For the Blue Devils, this counts as revenge for the 56-45 victory the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Bellwood-Antis was led to victory by Lilly Gerwert and Jenna Norton. Gerwert dropped a double-double with 21 points and 11 boards, while Norton dropped a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Gerwert now owns an excellent 45.6% shooting accuracy. Leigha Clapper was another key player, going 5-for-11 en route to 15 points and six assists.

Bellwood-Antis was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Portage had strong showings from Kendall Bednarski, who posted 17 points along with six rebounds and four steals, and Britton Myher, who had 15 points. Bednarski is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cassidy Burkett, who earned two points and five boards.

Bellwood-Antis pushed their record up to 12-11 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points over those games. As for Portage, their record is now 13-11.

Coming up, Bellwood-Antis will head out on the road to face off against Bishop McCort at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
