Basketball Game Preview: Pierce City Eagles vs. Wheaton Bulldogs

The Pierce City Eagles will challenge the Wheaton Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Pierce City's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Wheaton has been banged up by 15 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

Last Tuesday, Pierce City beat Miller 39-31. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Eagles' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 327th, while the Cardinals are ranked 157th).

Meanwhile, Wheaton had to suffer through a 59-18 loss at the hands of McAuley Catholic. The game marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Pierce City has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Wheaton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-19.

Everything came up roses for Pierce City against Wheaton in their previous meeting on January 14th, as the team secured a 66-33 win. Will Pierce City repeat their success, or does Wheaton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
