Softball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for New Caney

New Caney won against Oak Ridge last Wednesday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The New Caney Eagles beat the Grand Oaks Grizzlies by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-3. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 9-2 victory the Grizzlies walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

The win made it two in a row for New Caney and bumps their season record up to 12-6-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Grand Oaks, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 12-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Caney will challenge Caney Creek at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday. As for Grand Oaks, they will face off against Conroe at 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
