Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shamokin Area). They were the clear victor by an 84-64 margin over the Selinsgrove Seals on Saturday. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Seals are ranked 413th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Shamokin Area had a senior duo take command as Joe Hile went 6 for 11 on his way to 19 points in addition to eight boards and seven assists and Rylan Price went 7 of 9 en route to 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Price has scored all season. Case Litchy was another key player, putting up 15 points and five rebounds.

Despite the loss, Selinsgrove still got an impressive performance from Xaivier Jackson, who posted 30 points. Another player making a difference was Mac Defazio, who scored 13 points.

Shamokin Area has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.2 points per game. As for Selinsgrove, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Shamokin Area didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-47 victory against Central Mountain on the 21st. As for Selinsgrove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 66-51 win against Jersey Shore on the 21st.
