Football Recap: E.E. Smith Takes a Loss + How To Watch

E.E. Smith and Terry Sanford squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but E.E. Smith had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Bulldogs 49-20. While losing is never fun, the Golden Bulls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 284th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 96th).

Nick Smith threw for 67 yards on five of 13 attempts. Ethan Butler was his top target, picking up 58 receiving yards.

Terry Sanford's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isaiah Washington, who rushed for 157 yards and one touchdown on only 15 carries. That's the most rushing yards Washington has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Moore, who threw for 220 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 75% of his passes.

This is the second loss in a row for E.E. Smith and nudges their season record down to 3-8. As for Terry Sanford, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

As of now, neither E.E. Smith nor Terry Sanford have any future games scheduled.
